Can anyone tell me, please, why a question about lemons has to wear a mature content tag?

I realize that the only way they are truly edible is when they are mature, so maybe that is the reason? But as far as I know, they are a fruit that grows on a tree and gives a succulent juice that is quite tasty when sugar and water are added, also known as lemonade.

What are your thoughts on the "Reborn" dolls? How do we (women) quell our maternal instincts?

I recently watched a documentary on the BBC about women who collect very lifelike newborn dolls called reborns. I was filled with many different reactions to what I learned from that program.

These women have either never had children…have lost children…or their children are now grown. Are they simply giving in to their natural "Maternal instinct" and using these lifelike dolls to help them cope? Or do they have a deeper need?
I was sitting there thinking about my children (I have four under the age of 9) and how I would feel once they are out in the world…have left the "nest". Will I be able to gracefully accept their growth or will I have the "pangs" of missing having a "baby"? It’s an interesting question…..both scientific (hormonal) and psychological.
What are you thoughts? Would you open yourself up to holding a doll to help with the "missing"? If you’ve been in that situation or have felt that "maternal loss"…how did you deal with it?
I appreciate all opinions!

What is it about our culture that makes US produce such derogatory songs for MOTHER DEAREST…???

My Chemical Romance

Mama, we all go to hell.
Mama, we all go to hell.
I’m writing this letter and wishing you well,
Mama, we all go to hell.

Whoa, well, now, Mama, we’re all gonna die.
Mama, we’re all gonna die.
Stop asking me questions, I’d hate to see you cry,
Mama, we’re all gonna die.

And when we go don’t blame us, yeah.
We let this fire just bathe us, yeah.
You made us, oh, so famous.
We’ll never let you go.
And when you go don’t return to me my love.

Mama, we’re all full of lies.
Mama, we’re meant for the flies.
And right now they’re building a coffin your size,
Mama, we’re all full of lies.

Well, Mother, what the war did to my legs and to my tongue,
You should’ve raised a baby girl,
I should’ve been a better son.
If you could counter the infection they can amputate at once.
You should’ve been,
I could’ve been a better son.

Joe Biden stumps off topic about being raised with strong women. It caught my ear! More info/link??

Monday morning (Nov. 3, 2008) around 10 a.m. CST, I overhead on MSNBC a clip of Joe Biden talking off topic about being raised with so many sisters. Also something about women raised with brothers. This has been a hot topic of conversation in our "tough Texas women" vs. "good old boy" family, for many years. So I’m trying to research the exact words, or find a link. (No coverage of Texas this year — but glad to report here in Southeast Texas, as Willie Nelson would say, "Blue skies shining on me…." ).

How does one use up there comments in a 24 hour time span??

For starters some days I will ask alot of questions, then I try to take the time to say thank you, at the very least… you took the time to answer, isnt that the least I could do……….I dont always get it done, but I try…. sometimes a further comment or question is left so I will reply to them…. and I also answer alot of questions in a day… so I check them to see if I need to reply to someone….

I am also not sure how the 24 hour clock works? If I am here everyday when did the timer begin?

Sometimes I think the clock is in glitch mode… I have seen it where I cant leave a comment then maybe an hour later I can leave a few then bamm it hits me again..!!

Has Tony Blair’s email response to the road tax petition answered anyone’s questions or criticisms of the scheme?

This is the email sent out to survey signer-upers.

Thank you for taking the time to register your views about road pricing on the Downing Street website.
This petition was posted shortly before we published the Eddington Study, an independent review of Britain’s transport network. This study set out long-term challenges and options for our transport network.
It made clear that congestion is a major problem to which there is no easy answer. One aspect of the study was highlighting how road pricing could provide a solution to these problems and that advances in technology put these plans within our reach. Of course it would be ten years or more before any national scheme was technologically, never mind politically, feasible.
That is the backdrop to this issue. As my response makes clear, this is not about imposing "stealth taxes" or introducing "Big Brother" surveillance. This is a complex subject, which cannot be resolved without a thorough investigation of all the options, combined with a full and frank debate about the choices we face at a local and national level. That’s why I hope this detailed response will address your concerns and set out how we intend to take this issue forward. I see this email as the beginning, not the end of the debate, and the links below provide an opportunity for you to take it further.
But let me be clear straight away: we have not made any decision about national road pricing. Indeed we are simply not yet in a position to do so. We are, for now, working with some local authorities that are interested in establishing local schemes to help address local congestion problems. Pricing is not being forced on any area, but any schemes would teach us more about how road pricing would work and inform decisions on a national scheme. And funds raised from these local schemes will be used to improve transport in those areas.
One thing I suspect we can all agree is that congestion is bad. It’s bad for business because it disrupts the delivery of goods and services. It affects people’s quality of life. And it is bad for the environment. That is why tackling congestion is a key priority for any Government.
Congestion is predicted to increase by 25% by 2015. This is being driven by economic prosperity. There are 6 million more vehicles on the road now than in 1997, and predictions are that this trend will continue.
Part of the solution is to improve public transport, and to make the most of the existing road network. We have more than doubled investment since 1997, spending

Would you allow your children to use this site to answer homework??

The reason I ask this is because I make my children, all four, use BOOKS and the resources available to them in class to do their homework, and they get straight A grades every year. Some think it is ok to use the internet, and copy their friends paper, etc. I think this is a waste of talent as the child will grow up never knowing how to use the things that are needed in life to succeed, when they can just turn to the net, and search it, I do feel that the internet is a great tool, but only in the respect that you need to exhaust your other options first.

What is the name of the last good, really decent book that you read and told everybody about?

This book has to be so good that you told a lot of your family and friends about it while your were reading, after you read it, and even bought or thought about buying a copy of this book for someone.

This book can be fiction or non-fiction.

What is it about this book that really captivated you so much?

How did you find out about it?

I am looking for a time alteriing movie I thought stared Matt Broderick. It is about a scientist who creates a "time bubble" in a bunker in the desert. A woman is involved in witnessing a murder spree and runs to the bunker for help. She gets &q

She goes back in time to change history and save the victims but each time she goes back a new catalyst is involved and different people die each time. eventually the scientist and her go back to try and change the scenario of the murder spree by this carzed man and his "wife/girlfriend". It takes place in an isolated area, perhaps the desert in New Mexico. . . I need the title to this film. . I do not have a year. . . please help I am going nuts. .

what is the meaning of life? is there an afterlife?

i believe that we are all very complex species that have evolved over billions of years fom the first living bacteria. i think there is no meaning to life and that people should concentrate on just living it in the first place. i think it is a natural thing for us as extremely inteligent beings to belive in an afterlife. i believe we shouldnt even be thinking like this, and that we are becoming a victim of our own intelligence. we want to believe in an afterlife. but i belive there is no such place, life etc.

is there a website that lists all legislation relating to child protection for each country worldwide?

For example, I would like to be able to find child protection legislation in USA or Germany or France or Australia. Is there one website which gives information on the latest legislation on child protection in these countries and others.

Now here’s what I don’t understand about the atheist or unbeliever camp: IF Christians are wrong

(and for that matter, theists, deists, and any religion that believes in God), then the worst thing we face is simple biochemical decomposition…….it’s over, dead and buried, end of story. BUT, IF we ARE RIGHT, we have heaven to look forward to and the rest of the unbelieving world has an eternity of torment and separation from God to look forward to. Now, if I were a prudent man……if for no other reason than the "fire insurance", would I not WANT to believe in light of such eternal consequences?

Why can’t we stick to policy of having only one child?

Everytime I see the people with two kids in their hands and the third one in the stroller and the fourth one fooling around behind them, I ask myself why? Why are we making other people’s life miserable? My theory is that if a person has 3-4 kids, those kids will grow up and their own 3-4 kids, because of the same mentality. And we all know that we affect everything in this world. Nobody lives in isolation. If a person takes a job, it means there is one job less for all the other jobless. I ask myself why can’t people be happy by having one kid and believe in "live and let live" philosophy.

If we attempt to lessen Global warming in Britain by re-cycling etc. are we fighting a losing battle when we look at other countries who do not seem to care?

I read that a triathlon couple left Hong Kong because of air pollution. Apparently Hong Kong experiences daily smog due to the heavily industrialised Pearl River Delta region. I had read some time ago that the U.S.A. were also reluctant to cut down carbon emissions. These are heavily populated areas. Are they really that self-centred?
