Does anyone else find the recent McCain’s ad about Obama not visiting the wounded troops deceiving?
McCain should be ashamed! So much for the straight talking express! This man has the nerve to say Obama found time to go to the gym and not visit the wounded? The pictures of Obama in that gym where taken by the Department of Defense in a gym visiting troops! What a liar this guy [...]
With the over 60s getting free travel on buses, is there a dedicated website designed to help the over 60s travel between Lands End and John O’Groats and all points in between?
If there isn’t, should there be?
Are there any helpful sites that fill the gap?
Buses are so fractionated it’d take a genius or a major nerd to find out how to get from the South Coast to the shores of Cardigan Bay using just free buses..
Any ideas?
How to avoid cameras on toll roads
How can I beat the cameras when I run a toll?I dont like paying tolls. Ive gotten advice ranging from leaving my tailgate down when I go through, to reflective spray paint, to tinted liscence plate covers. I havent tried any yet, does anybody know a good way to sneak by un-noticed?
What’s the temperature in the airplane luggage areas during the flight?
Are they heated? Or is it roughly the same as outside, ie -50C? Can I transport electronics without worrying that it will get broken? And will food get spoilt?
I’m going to London soon and am trying to book a hotel. It’s been 20 years since I was last in London (yes, I was a kid at the time) so I am not really sure how far certain areas are from the city centre. Can you help?
I want to do the normal tourist things – London Eye, Buckingham Palace, etc. Which area of London is close by for these places? Kensington, Knightbridge, Euston, Croydon. I’m confused!!

Are there many good ‘follies’ in the UK? If so, where?
I’ve visited The Forbidden Corner at Leyburn in North Yorkshire and thought it was fantastic, but knowing many of the ’surprises’ there, you can never really experience the first time joy again.
Are there any other similar follies around the country, and if so, where? If you have been, were they any good?

Why do your cases always end up miles apart?
Recently went away, handed both cases in at checkin together and when we got to arrivals do you think the cases are still together? Not a chance, and it seems to happen every time. Has anyone else noticed this, and is there an explanation for it?

The Bishop Of Southwark says he would never have got home to Streatham if he had been under the influence.Personally I believe him but how about you, have you made any "incredible" journeys after a cold drink or two?
I’m going to venice in a few weeks. Has anyone been there before? Any tips?
I know there was a previous question like this but the answer was "Do what the locals do" I was looking for something a bit more specific. I have the Rogh Guide and Lonely Planet books but you can’t beat a direct recommendation.

Where is this clock?
Somewhere in England and I seem to think it’s in the West Country or somewhere like Dorset, there is a town/village that has a clock that shows the local time i.e. what the time would be there if we didn’t stick to GMT. I’ve seen it on travel shows in the past and now [...]
