I have a small problem: Me and one of my mates are going out, and we don’t know who should be the driver for today. Me or him?

All to easy: In Germany it’s not allowed to "drink ‘n drive" (unfortunately) … So we need to make a decision. Do you think he should drive or me?

I have just replaced my passport by post (with the British Consulate in Germany) and have been issued with a biometric passport containing a small chip.

Amateur A&R….

Whilst talking with the lovely Laura Imbruglia, I volunteered my services to help drum up enough support in the UK to justify her label paying for her to do some gigs over here.
At present, she has a label in Oz (Chatterbox) and a label in Germany (Silversonic) but no label or distribution for the UK. [...]

Phaarp. The germans do it too..!

‘It’s magnetite blue. Incredible paint! It was so deep when you looked down the side it was almost purple. It’s still great paint.’ Fonda reckons the 6.9 is a more comfortable cruiser than the 6.3, but he misses the dual-tone horns of the 6.3. ‘I might do a bargain with my daughter. She never knew [...]

‘An Englishman’s home is his castle’ is from an old English law when bailiffs were not allowed to force entry into a dwelling to seize goods or make arrest. Is the concept of buying your own home a ‘tradition’ that exists only in England?

Interested to know whether the same applies in Europe, say, in Germany for instance? Is it purely for financial reasons or is there a historical presumption that we need to own and not rent?

Is this just an urban myth?

-My pianist friend Stefan tells me that when he went swimming in a municipal pool in Germany, they put a chemical in the water.
So – if you pee’d in the pool – it turned into a massive bright red cloud around you.
Is this possible?
Is the chemical (if it exists) approved by Health and Safety?

I wonder whether this locution is equally popular in English. And could you please suggest a popular epithet for France to me, you nation of shopkeepers, you?PS: [...]

Does any of the Maginot Line still exist?

The huge fortifications that France built on the border with Germany that were meant to prevent invasion. I think Hitler destroyed it after the conquest of France, but is any of it still there?
