You are uploaded into the matrix. What is the first thing you want to learn?

For those who haven’t seen the film, your mind is loaded into a computer generated world. Essentially, your being has become a programme in a huge, interactive, virtual reality.
You can request all sorts of cool stuff from an "operator," who will upload skills and knowledge, on request… plug-ins for the virtual you.
What would you ask [...]

What’s the name of this film?

It was made around about ten years ago. It’s about a small plane that crashes in a remote, snowy part of America. There’s a bag on board with a lot of money in it. Some locals find it but don’t know what to do. I think they start to kill each other and the money [...]

DO you think Daniel Craig will make a good James Bond?

I had my doubts at first, but he seems grittier than he did when he first got the role, and people were calling him James Bland. I think he has potential.

Are any quota quickies still watched?

Quota quickies were films made in Britain in the 1930s-50s. Legally, a certain quota of films shown in Britain had to be made in Britain, and the quickies were cheap films made to put on double bills with popular Hollywood films. Thing is, although I know that much about them, I don’t actually know the [...]

Does "The Naked Gun" theme music have a title?

I have seen it listed as "Naked Gun (Main Theme)" but it was used in "Police Squad" several years before. Shouldn’t it be called "Police Squad" or did it have a title before that?

are there any books that should be on the curriculum but aren’t (for whatever reason)?

i know that some schools have "catcher in the rye" but not all. what about "1984"? are there any other books which you think it would be beneficial for kids to read?
similarly, what films would you advise people to watch? not just because they’re good or funny, but because they have become "cult classics" and [...]

I am about to sit down and watch "Dune", but I have been advised that it is difficult to understand. I’ve read one of the prelude books, and didn’t find it hard to understand – why should this be any different?

I’ve always been put off watching it by people who have said "It’s hard to get into, it’s hard to understand", and thought to myself that there was no point watching something that would give me no pleasure and vex me instead.
Incidentally, this is the version with William Hurt, not "the more famous version" (apparently, [...]

What does he say in the film Bedazzled?

In the Spanish/Columbian part of the film he says something that sounds like: ir-ass-ay-pee-uh. Any ideas what it translates as? (or perhaps the correct spelling lol)

What was the first film in which the world ended?

Just saw a fantastic early 60s British sci fi The Day The Earth Caught fire – nice low-budget apocalypse stuff, starring Rumpole of the Bailey. What was the first ever apocalypse movie?

In your opinion, which was best: The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, or The Matrix Revolutions?

What kind of film person are you?

Are you a Romantic Comedy person?or is an Action flick more like you?or are you a person after my own heart and a Sci-fi chick (or guy)?
What if your favourite film or TV series?

Name of Italian movie

Some years ago (I think likely 3 or 4) I saw a very intriguing trailer for a movie, but it never seemed to make it to the cinema or DVD. All I can remember is that it was very much in the style of Barbarella, and was about some people making a science fiction movie. [...]

Where can I get a Region 2 copy of Fort Apache: The Bronx?

Sorry to be strict on this BUT, if you provide a link to a Region 1 copy you will be marked unhelpful as I can find them myself!
BTW not to be confused with the John Wayne film Fort Apache. This film starts Paul Newman and Ken Wahl.

At what point in the movie "Meet the Spartans" did Donald Trump or George Bush appear?

Just been to see the film, it was hilarious… but in the trailer both Donald Trump and Geogre Bush appear. Unless I missed them in the actual film when I blinked?!?!
Also, did anybody see a bit where they spoof The Matrix? The synopsis says they do, but I didn’t notice it…

X-Men the movie I, II, III ???

Did they miss the point of the X-Men or is it me, i thought the x men would be a group of mutants fighting evil like spiderman and other hero’s as thats what they do in the cartoon strips, but the X-Men movie is about their fight to co exsist with humans. did they miss the [...]

How do the workplace no smoking laws affect TV studios and film sets, where smoking is part of the narrative?

Taken to one extreme, if a non-smoking person (like Roy Castle) became ill with a smoking-related illness after working exclusively on smokey film sets, would that force a change in the law.
Or, conversely, could you set up a webcam in a 1970s-styled office with the aim of producing a performance art piece (if a runner [...]

Ennio Morricone and Maurizio Graf

A friend of mine used to have a compilation album of some of Ennio Morricone’s spaghetti western incidental music. Alongside all the usual stuff from The Good The Bad and the Ugly etc, there were a few rare tracks, including a couple sung by Maurizio Graf, and some incredible songs from Seven Guns for the [...]

Reading the book Fight Club, and a question popped up in my mind…

Actually I wondered this after the film as well…is there any possibility Marla Singer could be a third personality of the narrator? Is there any definite reason why she couldn’t?

Who was the first film star to do full frontal nudity?

In a film that is, most people have been fully nude at some point in their lives.
And I mean a *real* film star, not a p.o.r.n star. And I want verfifiable sightings only, not urban myths about Joan Crawford’s early work.

What books or films do you think are more relevant today than when they were made?

While watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday it occurred to me that in many ways it’s messages were more relevant to society today than at the time of filming, would you agree and what films or books have you felt this about?

What films are you really excited about due for release in the future?

I think, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and No Country for Old Men have promise. I was looking forward to Ratatouille and Eastern Promises as well but they’re released, although I haven’t seen them, same for American Gangster. Additionally any directors/actors you really like.

Are the Oscars important outside of the US?

How much clout do the Oscars carry outside of the United States? Do they add credibility to a film? More so than other awards? Or are they seen as an excuse for Hollywood to congratulate itself?
Countries mentioned in this Post: United States

Why do people like the film titanic?

How can people like something as that cheesy and badly done?…it defies sense and shows why the oscars are wrong that it has won the most ever (even if the record is shared)

Who has been nominated for the most oscars with out winning one?

life time acheivement ones do not count, just year by year ones so for example…peter O’toole was nominated for three with out winning (his life time achievement in 2002 is discounted)
