what funky tips have you got for making PROPER easter eggs?
NOT CHOCOLATE ONES!!!
mum and me used to parboil eggs and then crack the shells all over and either continue cooking with onion skins in the pan, or use crepe paper in all sorts of colours wrapped round the eggs. the result, when you peeled your egg, was a marbled effect (brown with the onion skins, or multicoloured with the crepe paper) on the white of the boiled egg.
i thought this was pure genius.
i used to like decorating non-marbled eggs too.
what about you lot? pictures and links also welcome!

PROPER…..NOW HOLD ON….LOL.
You can make (crappy easter eggs) by using balloons….
tear up small bits of paper dip them in a solution of water and pva glue and cover the balloon with the paper. Leave it over night to dry then paint the ballon. When its finished you can pop the ballon (use a pin to pierce the paper) leaving the round shape made by the paper!
Also to make it more exciting, put sweets or chocolate in the balloon before blowing it up…..so the kids can then rip open your egg to find threats inside!!!

I used to decorated eggs, normally just using the little tins of paint you get from from craft shops, one of my favorites was, I was asked to do an egg for a young relative but forgot all about it, so I didn't have much time to do it. Then I had an idea, armed with a pair of scissors, I went into a field with horses in, soon I had what I needed, then with a egg, bit glue & card it was done, my relative won 1st prize at her school with Cousin It
