Was Palin a really awful choice?

I’ve been doing some more looking into her actual positions, and here are some highlights: She’s against abortion even in the case of rape, she doesn’t believe global warming is at all affected by humans, and she doesn’t think evolution should even be taught in schools. She also has no foreign policy experience, has admitted on tape a month ago that she isn’t sure what a Vice President does( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9pnzQ96kWA ), and is under investigation in her own state. This is about as bad as if Obama picked Kucinich. She’s supposed to be ready to lead if anything happens to McCain, and with a 72-76 yearold and office, that’s a particularly scary idea.

I'd sure like to see some links.

I originally heard about these on CNN and Good Morning America, and it turns out now that it's not as clear as they made it sound. Still, though, those positions are more or less accurate.

On Abortion: Sorry to post something from a liberal blog, but it's hard to find the info online so soon after she became the nominee: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/29/123140/560/1006/578702
Do you think if her 13 year-old daughter was raped and got pregnant she'd really force her to have the rapist's child? I certainly hope not.

Oh, and she's suing over polar bears being on the endangered species list: http://www.adn.com/polarbears/story/413710.html

Thanks jazz, this is really interesting.

I must agree on the polar bears. They were put on the endangered species list because their low numbers qualified them to be on the list. Now their numbers are over 10X what they once were. They no longer qualify.
You still see that flick about an old polar bear starving to death. Do you know how old that clip was? And why was the bear starving? NOBODY knows. Maybe he was just too old to catch fish anymore. Maybe he was sick. Polar bears die just like every other known species. No autopsy was done. But the spin was going full speed ahead. If you see the film again, watch the info at the very last. It tells when the film was made.

I'm curious, what did you think of Buchanan's policies when he was running for President, because your darling VP salivated when she heard him speak.

  6. tbcbreakingnews - January 29th, 2010

I am sorry but I cannot remember anything about Buchannon. He must not have lasted very long or maybe I found him inconsequencial at the time.

She's been a mayor of a town of 9,000 people, and is governor of an iceberg, for about a year. Her "decisions" were based on undoing unpopular doings by her predecessor. The "Bridge to Nowhere" is her rallying call, and any idiot who succeeded her predecessor would have killed that too. Get a clue.
McCain, whom I'm voting for anyway, would have been better suited by selecting Lieberman.

  8. tbcbreakingnews - January 29th, 2010

She ran a state, She was a Governor and also a Mayor.. That's more experience than Obama who is just a legislator as a senator and how many days has he been a senator… Not many…

I agree, he did what he needed to do for the good of McCain and that is win the election. He DID NOT do right by America.

  10. rudygay22 - January 29th, 2010

You just pointed out the obvious reason that he must not win. The VP job is to be ready to step in and be president, run this country on a moments notice. The beauty queen will probably need to apply her make-up first even in an emergency situation.
