Just looking for opinions. The bear in the woods was taken from an old Reagan add. It seems sort of early to be starting. I think Romney has a good chance to win the next primary.

cease fire
Nitty_C - December 11th, 2009
But it does seem more like a 'seize fire'.
I don't think Palin really has much to offer. The republicans might could pull together a little if they rallied around Romney. They should start now to build him up as a moderate.

Thank you for your response. Do you think that the country would be better with only one party?
tranviviann - December 11th, 2009
No.
I do believe that the Republican Party in choosing to identify so heavily with christian stances on abortion has failed the American people. This is not our only issue, and people, christian or otherwise deserve more. The conservative stance has value, and Republican views on economics and defense have value. But a fundamentalist christian view is an exclusive one, and by pandering to those who exclude, the GOP would seem to force out too many Americans.
They need to drop fundi's like a hot potato and get back to what they do best, protecting the nation and stuffing the pockets of contractors with taxpayer dollars. Those are things most ambitious Americans can get behind. The religious agenda puts off some of the largest groups of ambitious Americans because the christian right is vocal in hating them (us).
I enjoyed the treatment the electorate gave the Republicans recently, it was a fair and just slap in the face. If we want religion, we'll go to church.
Go Palin!!

So, we need two parties…….two reasonable parties.
tranviviann - December 11th, 2009
At least two. Three or more (large and viable parties) would be better if we could figure a way to guarantee a majority. The more we have, the better our choices if one party decides to abandon moderates.

It is laughable that they don't realize that McCain had a better shot until he choose Palin. Yes, Go Palin!!

It got my vote.
whigumstyx - December 11th, 2009
Yes she should. A Palin nomination assures a two term Obama Administration.
pompey2132 - December 11th, 2009
or ensures.
tranviviann - December 11th, 2009
Don't they do that after every election? I think more people just pay more attention now days.
JamieCoogan - December 11th, 2009
some things never change, only people's perceptions of them change.
