Best natual solution to kill moss from a lawn in the pacific northwest?
I am looking for the best natual solution to kill moss in a lawn in the Pacific Northwest (Puget Sound area of WA)? I don’t want to use the chemical and typical methods offered by yard care companies or found at Home Depot/Lowes…. Please let me know the specific product and best place to get it… beyond that I can take care of the steps to remove the moss after it is dead.

Moss requires an acidic soil to survive so if you sweeten the soil with a good gardening lime the moss will eventually die out. You will need to get the soil to test at a ph of 8 or above to do this but it will work and it is not using harmful chemicals such as copper sulfate.

yeah, moss likes acidic soil so anything that sweetens it, even egg shells will do…

I found a really good source on this subject and they say that lime only helps the lawn grow … it does not kill the moss: http://gardening.wsu.edu/text/faqlawn.htm#Moss
