Does anyone else find the recent McCain’s ad about Obama not visiting the wounded troops deceiving?
McCain should be ashamed! So much for the straight talking express! This man has the nerve to say Obama found time to go to the gym and not visit the wounded? The pictures of Obama in that gym where taken by the Department of Defense in a gym visiting troops! What a liar this guy has become!

First of all Senator Obama has been present for 1 of the meeting on Afghanistan, and the committee has held 4 meetings total. Second the ad state's Obama made time to go to the gym and blurred out the troops in the background, third McCain states he has always supported our troops and I suppose the fact he only has a 20% rating by vets and is rated a D minus, had only been present to vote on 4 of the last 14 bills that affects veterans and has voted no on the 4 he was present for. Real honest ad! It is deceit at it's best!

Despite the strains of on-going conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, military members are much more likely to identify themselves as Republicans, in comparison to other Americans . As a 2004 Annenburg study revealed:
Forty-three percent called themselves Republican, 19 percent called themselves Democrats and 28 percent said they were independents. While the party identification of respondents in national polls moves around a bit from week to week, this was strikingly more Republican than the general population in the September 27-October 3 sample. There, 28 percent called themselves Republican, 34 percent Democratic and 27 percent independent.
Active duty military personnel and retirees are also more likely to vote than the general public, making them a reliable block for the Republican candidates they support.

Voters who have served in the U.S. military favor John McCain over Barack Obama by a 56% to 37% margin.

Don't count on it. When faced with the McCain "Straight Talk Express,". Obama will fall under the same bus he pushed his white grandmother, Hillary, and others under. the UGHHHHHH's that Obama uses before each and every sentence will bury him. McCain will win as he always does.
Bratd1 - December 12th, 2009
So you are more caught up in Obama's ability to shoot the crap and his young good looks. That is typical for most shallow liberals, and you sound very shallow, more so than most others I have heard.
avroxxxy - December 12th, 2009
it is misleading though…
Talktou1246 - December 12th, 2009
your not wrong..there are you happy.?..so your pentagon that Mc Same defends with skin and bones won't let us see our injured troops….is that what you just said?

Lou: Once again, this is a political ad that doesn't seem to lie. It may be misleading but seems accurate. Has BO called any hearing, he may have attended one but that's different. BO did in fact cancel his trip to the hospital. I don't want to equate the two, but there are plenty of Dems who say they support the troops that I think are just the opposite. Surely McCain has done things in the past, I can't pretend to know them. Point is the ad is factual like it or not. It's a political ad.

JohnicaReed - December 12th, 2009
But McCain's advisers seized on the fact that Obama and his aides have given several different versions of why the visits to the soldiers were canceled.
Initially, Obama said the visits were scrapped out of respect for the troops and to avoid making the visits part of the campaign. A later statement blamed the cancellation on Pentagon rules that bar such visits, but a military spokesman later said Obama would have been welcomed as long as he came without a campaign entourage or media.
That's when the McCain campaign jumped, accusing Obama of choosing not to visit because he couldn't bring the hordes of media that had followed him across Europe.
"Several explanations were offered, none was convincing, and each was at odds with the statements of American military leaders in Germany and Washington," retired Lt. Col. Joe Repya, a Vietnam veteran, said in a statement issued by the McCain campaign.

bazookajoe,
Even as CHAIRMAN of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama has YET to meet with the European Union Ambassador!!

Have you bothered to look at all the pork attached to those bills. Send clean bill. McCain does not like pork and rarely has voted for a bill that had pork attached. Pork should be outlawed send only clean bills to the vote.
faerie508 - December 12th, 2009
You say "pork" a lot, singlemom. Please tell me, inform me of what pork is.

I do believe that the hospital which Obama decided not to visit was in Berlin. Instead, he chose to go to the gym at the Ritz Carlton, where this photo was made. Even though he tried to suppress publication of the photo, It is widely distributed in Europe. Even HE admits to being hustled!
http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,568532,00.html
milliewatkins - December 13th, 2009
Hustled? only by the reporter who tricked him into thinking she was just a fan.. you still haven't proven that the photo was taken that day or in the evening or morning, and it still doesn't answer the fact that McLaims ad is very misleading at best. when i read the article he didn't come off to me caring one way or the other about anyone seeing it. In fact he kind of played it off like a joke. So just because you say it is or you want it to be true doesn't mean it is. after all they are the news makers Not you
milliewatkins - December 13th, 2009
IT is obvious that the photo was taken at the gym at the time he originally allocated for visiting the hospital in Berlin. He admits as much!
My saying does not make this true. My links prove it true!!
I'm sure you find it just as misleading in that there is no video of Foreign Relations Committee meetings showing an empty chair proving Obama's absence.
Does your mommy know that you are playing on her computer?
lafinguy - December 13th, 2009
that pic was taken early in the morning before the speech and the troop meeting and all…it answers it in the column. she states as everyone was waiting for him in the square she was meeting him in the gym. lafinguy - December 13th, 2009
LOL …cant you comprehend what you read…. 4:49was when he went to the gym was on Thursday !!!!!<<<<<< The MEETING with the TROOPS was on friday. LEARN to comprehend what you read instead of popping off with your so called facts. I knew this all along that's why i was arguing with you. Go check it out your self its all there in plain english. I laugh at your moronic attempt to BS me and the others here
teepetersen - December 13th, 2009
I know Lena but i get a kick out of proving them wrong like this here.. I knew all along that the gym thing with the girl was not even close to the troop meeting as far as time went.. and if you read the link he posted it says right there that at 1:42 the meeting was cancled for the next day FRIDAY.. later that day Thursday he went to the gym.. I wouldnt have even waisted my time on him had he not been calling LOU out as a lier. But at the same time he was trying to pass this pic off as some sort of proof.. WHEN I knew better.. so i called him on it

Obama's last Troop visit was on Monday, July 21, in Iraq.
On Friday, July 25, Obama was in Paris, kissing the French President.
There were no Troop visits after Iraq on the 21st.
You have changed the focus of your point several times during our exchange and each time I have provided links to verify my statements.
Now, it is time for you to post a link proving a visit to American Troops on July, 25, as you claim. ……Good Luck!

lafinguy - December 13th, 2009
Simple point regardless of the day Obama had time to go to the gym but couldn't make time to visit wounded veterans. Disgustingly shameful.
teepetersen - December 13th, 2009
Sometimes he wears it sometimes he doesn't, for various reasons. Don't worry there are plenty of other reason's people won't vote for Obama.
lafinguy - December 13th, 2009
No he did not he visited the wounded troops in Kuwait, he was in the gym in Kuwait not Germany like the ad tried to make it seem. He did not play basketball in Germany it was Kuwait and cancelled the trip to see the injured in Germany. No camera's were in Kuwait when he visited the wounded but not publicity about that was there!
teepetersen - December 13th, 2009
Obama was scheduled to see and visit the troops in Germany when he opted out and it was because he could not make a political statement when only one still camera could be brought into the ward by him.
Tap dance all you want, but thems the facts and the Gallup poll shows that McCain has drawn dead even with Obama at this time.
One has to wonder if it's because the flashy Obama's glitter is starting to fade in the light of the true facts. People are not going to buy his hype forever.
