I've had this problem before (and it seems I'm now back into it!). The solution that worked for me was making myself get up at 9 every day, then I'd gradually get more and more tired and get myself back into it. This only works if you're disciplined enough to get up at a certain time every day though, otherwise you'll just slip back into it!

    It depends on your lifestyle.
If you do not have a need to change, it would be difficult to do so.

Changing the biological clock requires a gradual adjustment. You could try half an hour at a time over a period of weeks. Also try getting up 'relatively' early and do not nap during the day.

As for the young one, usually babies take up the routine of the caregiver, so that does not surprise me.

    Good luck.

I suggest you find a good self-help book on sleeping — your local library should be a good place to start. The key here is "sleep hygiene", i. e. adopting habits that help you get the sleep you need. It's no big science but it can't be explained in a few lines either.

However, one simple heuristic would be to set your alarm clock to get up half an hour earlier one morning, then go to bed half an hour sooner, and then set the alarm clock another half an hour earlier, and so forth until you have reached your desired sleeping itinerary.

PS: Either you are the first male mother I've come across or you should change your profile …
