I have just found a bag of Snowdrop and Tulip bulbs lurking in the back of a cupboard. Is it too late to plant them now?

I was given these in the autumn so they are not past their sell-by.

Have I left it too late to give them a Christian burial in the garden?

First and foremost, nature is designed to survive; so I'd go ahead and plant them. They might not produce much of a display but by next year I think they should be OK. I keep a couple of allotments and hardly any of my crops go in by the book, but I always end up with enough for the family and to give away to friends.

If the ground is very hard and cold, or like here, covered in snow, you could plant them in pots in the shed (if you have one) until it gets a bit warmer.

plant them. if they rot, ready made compost. if they flower, great. it's a win win situation.
